He married Anne Culhane, daughter of Daniel Culhane and Eliza ‘Bess’ Mulvihill, on 02 Jun 1895 in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin. Anne was born on 04 Jan 1870 in Killeaney, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. She died on 13 Dec 1903 from heart disease, aged 32 years in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick.

1.MICHAEL JAMES6 DILLANE (known locally as Mick ‘The Den’) was born on 18 Sep 1895 in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. He died on 15 May 1990 in Limerick, Co. Limerick Ireland. He married Ellen Sheahan, daughter of Michael Sheehan and Margaret Collins, on 17 Feb 1931 in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin, the witnesses being John Stackpoole and Nora Sheahan. Michael’s age given as 33 years and Ellen’s age given as 32 years. Ellen was born on 18 Jun 1896 in BallInagoul, Glin, Co. Limerick Ireland. She died on 01 Apr 1971 in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. Mick Dillane, known as Mick ‘’The Den’’ was a noted Gaelic footballer. He died on May 15th 1990. His son Jimmy Dillane was the next man to take over the family farm.
Michael James Dillane and Ellen Sheahan had the following children:
i. JAMES CHRISTOPHER7 DILLANE was born on 17 Feb 1932 in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. He married Brigid Carr on 21 Nov 1961 in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin. She died on 23 Oct 2016 in Kinard, Glin, County Limerick.
ii. ANNIE7 DILLANE was born on 12 Apr 1933 in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. She married Patsy McMahon Ballinagoul, Glin on 27 Nov 1965 in United Kingdom. I knew Patsy’s brother Ned McMahon very well, he lived over near the end of the Kerryline, cut hay for him back around 1970 and 1971.
iii. MARGARET7 DILLANE was born on 06 Feb 1935 in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick. She married Frank Broderick on 08 Aug 1961 in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin.
iv. MARY PATRICIA7 DILLANE was born on 16 Feb 1939 in Kinard, Glin Co. Limerick. She married Tom Hardy on 24 Aug 1968 in United Kingdom. He was born in 1936.
2. MARY6 DILLANE was born on 10 Dec 1896 in Kinnard, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. She died on 29 Jul 1961 in Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. She married Thomas Fitzgerald on 23 Dec 1924 in St. Munchin’s Church Limerick City Ireland. He was born in 1902 in The Mall, Glin, Co Limerick Ireland. He died on 06 Nov 1982.
Thomas Fitzgerald and Mary Dillane had the following children:
i. ELLEN7 FITZGERALD was born in 1925. She married JOHN GRACE. He was born in 1922. He died in 2001 in United Kingdom.

v. BRIDGET7 FITZGERALD was born in 1932. She married JOSEPH DAVEY.
vi, MARGARET7 FITZGERALD was born in 1934. She married LOUIS MCNULTY from Co. Mayo. Louis was a member of An Garda Siochana and was stationed in Glin for a time. Margaret was a schoolteacher and taught at Ballyguiltenane & Glin National Schools.
vii. KATIE7 FITZGERALD was born in 1936. She married JIM HALLETT.
3. DANIEL6 DILLANE was born on 23 Jul 1898 in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. He died on 30 Nov 1900 in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland.
4. CATHERINE6 DILLANE was born on 09 Oct 1899 in Kinnard, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. She died on 25 Sep 1900 in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland.
5. WILLIAM6 DILLON was born on 21 Oct 1901 in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick, Ireland. He died on 28 Jun 1969 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.. At this stage William and Thomas changed name to Dillon. Mary was the daughter of Patrick Mulvihill and Nora Agnes (Honoria) McGrath from Killeaney, Glin.
Thomas Dillon and Mary M. Mulvihill had the following child:
i. NOREEN ANN7 DILLON was born on 19 Jun 1937 in United States of America. She died on 08 Feb 2002 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, USA. She married (1) JAMES W BIDWELL. He was born on 29 Apr 1933. She married (2) JOSEPH HENNESSY. He was born on 09 Apr 1934. He died on 27 Jan 2003.

Notes for Daniel Culhane and Eliza Mulvihill. Known as Eliza ‘Bess’ Mulvihill.
Daniel Culhane and Eliza ‘Bess’ Mulvihill had one son Jack ‘Bess’ Culhane and one daughter Ann ‘Annie’ Culhane. Jack ‘Bess’ Culhane married Mary O’Connor from Clash, Athea. They had one son Dan Culhane and three daughters Babe, Moll and Bridget Culhane. This was Eliza’s second marriage, having been previously married to Paddy McCoy, Killeaney, Glin with whom they had one daughter Ellie McCoy. Paddy who died at a relatively young age, also went under the name McBoy.
Ellie McCoy, Paddy’s daughter, inherited the Killeaney farm and got married to Michael O’Connor from Dromtrasna, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick. They had four sons and two daughters. Paddy Michael O’Connor, grandson of Ellie, inherited the farm and sometime during the 1960’s, exchanged it for another farm in Manistir near Croom, Co. Limerick. James and Anne ‘Annie’ Dillane are interred in Kilfergus Cemetery, Glin.
